Located in the 8th arrondissement the Saint-Lazare or Paris-Saint-Lazare railway station is the oldest of the Parisian railway stations. The place was inaugurated in 1837 and was originally linking Paris to the city of Saint-Germain-en-Laye. As the traffic increased, successive evolutions were made to make it one of the busiest stations in the capital. Today it essentially links Paris to the west of France and hosts a RER line (line E) and 5 subway lines (lines 3, 9, 12, 13, 14). Inspiration for some, it has been immortalized by many artists including Monet and his famous painting that you can discover at the Musée d'Orsay, Manet or Buffet.
